Description
The West Texas Baptist was founded in 1924 by Sam Malone in Abilene, Texas. Malone published the newspaper until February 1924 when R.E. Dudley took over publication. Malone founded the newspaper when he was the field secretary for the alumni association at Simmons College in Abilene.
