This issue of The Toreador, a student newspaper released daily during school semesters, covers school news for Texas Tech University and is written and compiled by student staff. Stories in this issue include the crime statistics in Lubbock; approval by the Board of Regents for a student food co-op; the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Lubbock Regional Airport on April 2nd; student difficulties involved with obtaining permission to live off campus; four engineering alumni receiving Distinguished Engineer Awards; Reese Air Force Base being declared a Bicentennial base; Grover Murray placing his papers at the Southwest Collection in preparation for his retirement; and seawater being used in cotton research.
