dc.description	The Lubbock Avalanche was founded in 1900. It was published weekly under the name The Lubbock Avalanche its earliest issues, but it changed names to The Avalanche from about 1902 through 1909. In 1909, the name was again changed to The Lubbock Avalanche. It maintained this name through the early 1920s when it changed names again to The Lubbock Morning Avalanche.
