Newspapers in Clarendon and Donley County date back to 1878 with the founding of the Clarendon News, the first newspaper of the Texas Panhandle. Over the years, the newspaper has gone through several name changes, and there was a time when there were two newspapers in the community. Other titles include the Clarendon News, the Clarendon Weekly Traveler, the Industrial West, the Clarendon Chronicle, the Donley County Leader, the Donley County Leader and Clarendon News, the Clarendon Press, and the Clarendon Enterprise. The newspaper continues to be published under its current title today.
